More than just adding value to waste, Suldouro values people's quality of life, ensuring that the waste used is either repurposed as a resource or sent to the most appropriate destination.
Recycle Bins

To this end, Suldouro implemented a Selective Collection System, distributing 1950 collection points across the two municipalities, resulting in a ratio of 163 inhabitants per collection point, which constitutes an excellent indicator in terms of service coverage.

The collection fleet for the collection points consists of 10 vehicles operating in two shifts with 16 teams. To serve the selective collection of packaging from local businesses, three specific vehicles operate for door-to-door collection of packaging. Suldouro has one vehicle for washing collection points.

Selective collection takes place from Monday to Friday, from 5:30 am to 1:15 am, and on Saturday, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. For each collection flow, collection occurs according to the following schedule:

- Blue and Yellow: 5:30 am – 1:15 am.

- Green: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

Note: In extraordinary situations, glass collection may occur until 9:00 PM during the week and on Saturdays at the previously defined time.

The recycling point consists of 3 individual containers designed to receive different types of packaging waste.

To differentiate the type of waste each container receives, they are identified with different colors.

However, proper use of the recycling point involves:

- Checking that all packaging is drained to avoid contamination of other materials already in the container and unpleasant odors;
- Optimizing space by flattening the packaging;

- Not placing a closed bag in the recycling point.
