The Sorting Station is the facility where selectively separated materials arrive at the recycling points and recycling centers. Here, the materials are separated more carefully and according to their composition.
Suldouro felt the need to renovate its Sorting Station not only to meet the goals set out in PERSU 2020, but also to meet the very significant increase in the collection of recyclable waste. This increase was due not only to collection via recycling points, but mainly to door-to-door selective collection. This collection already represents 30% of the total weight of selective collection.
This new sorting line was designed considering the minimum nominal capacity of 4.5 tons/hour of selective collection waste from plastic and metal packaging (Yellow Recycling Point), in order to recover various recyclable materials, mostly plastic film packaging, PET, HDPE, ECAL, mixed plastics and various metals.
This project, which cost approximately R$ 2,700,000.00, was financed with the support of Community Funds, more specifically by POSEUR.
