The Mota-Engil Group is deeply saddened to announce that António Mota, the Group's long-standing leader who served as its chairman for more than 27 years, from 1995 to January 2023, passed away this morning in the city of Porto. Today we bid farewell to an extraordinary man, a visionary entrepreneur who leaves behind a unique legacy, known for his humanistic spirit and solidarity with society, and the mark he left on everyone who knew him.

The initiative also aims to promote the essential principles of reduction, reuse, and recycling, encouraging citizens, public and private entities to adopt more sustainable practices.

Closer to the Citizen to Better Raise Awareness and Education EGF has launched the Recycling Line app, a free, nationwide, and public service that supports citizens on issues related to the collection and treatment of urban waste. Aligned with customer behavior trends, the Recycling Line app aims to facilitate and encourage recycling through a practical, accessible, and intuitive tool that allows users to ask questions and contribute to the adoption of more conscious behaviors and good environmental practices in their daily lives.

Suldouro will no longer accept Used Lubricating Oils at its recycling centers (Sermonde, Gestal, Lobão, Souto and Vilar do Paraíso) from June 1, 2025. Users who regularly benefited from this service and those who may need it in the future can find alternative collection points with Sogilub (contact details available at the end of the text). This measure, taken after ensuring that there was an alternative for the disposal of this type of waste, is applied within the scope of the public service reserve for waste management, applied to concessions such as Suldouro, from January 1, 2025, which limits the management of urban waste to the definition established in subparagraph ee) of article 3 of Annex I of Decree-Law No. 102-D/2020, of December 10.

EGF was awarded two prizes at the 5th edition of the National Sustainability Award, promoted by the Jornal de Negócios newspaper. This recognition highlights the work of all the group's companies, including SULDOURO, and the daily commitment of more than 3,000 employees throughout the country.
